AGM and a Celebration

We held our AGM on September 2nd and reflected on the past year, especially the fund raising we did for the Air Ambulance and Helen’s Trust, which resulted in a grand total of £3160 to be split between them.

Our retiring chairman, Di Dakin, was thanked for her untiring work, kindness and generosity in her truly amazing 31 years in the post. She was presented with Blue John jewellery, flowers and champagne and the members provided food and drink for a social evening.

Summer Outing

On July 1st we all met at the Village Hall to set off on our mystery trip for our summer outing. Before we set off we had drinks kindly provided by Di to celebrate the end of her time as chairman.

We arrived at the New Bath Hotel, Matlock Bath and had an night of lovely food, drink and talk. It was a very loud and enjoyable evening.

Summer Walk

Our summer walk was from the Village Green, up the steep climb to the top of Foxholes Lane and then on to Joe Neville’s shooting ground. Seven members walked and luckily, after 11 days of non stop rain, had a dry hike up. More members drove up and had refreshments ready. Anyone who wanted to shoot clays had a go with others watching or giving advice!
